Not really. It depends entirely on where you live. Just about every gas station here (MN) has E-85. It's a HELL of a lot cheaper than running race gas.
A lot of the FI guys around here that run their cars on the street have started switching over to it.

Well apparently some of the new '09's say they are E85 Flex fuel capable. This is being discussed on another G8 forum right now as to whether or not its a printing mistake or not.

Just wanted to make sure everyone got that.
I think there's a few around Michigan. Maybe California should get serious about alternative energy...

I am sure the G8 could be converted (in fact I think its completely short sighted that all newer cars should have E85 safe components even if they don't have the computer tuning for it). I also think the E85 causes issues with the DoD/AFM in the G8 GT.

I thought E85 was causing more problems than it was helping. Isn't there a worldwide food shortage due to the corn being used for fuel instead of food? Maybe I heard wrong.

But if more people are growing the field corn than edible corn then it could create food issues.
This country has plenty of farm capacity. The government pays farmers not to grow for price control (not sure if they still do this but they DID).
Lets see...use more farm capacity and pay the farmer up the road rather than sending more $$$ out of the country to religious extremists that don't like us--much bigger issue.

There is no way that field corn usage in the US would cause a food shortage world wide. Corn is not like water. Everyone needs water, you could live with out corn. I love e-85,there are a bunch of station in and around Chicago. Im currently in the process of converting my car. Which isnt that hard, just need a better fuel system and tuning practice.

From research, I believe that although E85 is cheaper, the gas mileage is not as good as regular gasoline, therefore nullifying the price difference. It is possible to make your G8 E85 compatible, but I don't think it will be worth it.
