I don't really know why it trapped that high; I was as surprised as anyone. My other two runs that night were both 11.31@121-122.
Rwhp is 398 from a dynojet. I suspect that the actual rwhp is closer to 420-425, but the A4, the 3600 stall, gears, and the sticky mickeys bring the number down some.
The mods to the engine are kooks 1 3/4, ported Fast, & MTI G1 cam (228/232 .588/.575 113), and a Volant cai. Still have stock TB & pulley.
I probably gained about 3-4 tenths from the gears; hard to tell because of different track conditions.
I've never run slicks, just drag radials (18psi), (30 psi in the rear bags).
1/8 was 7.18@95

With a 2800 stall and 275/45/17 nittos and stock gears I put down 436whp with a locked converter. That 3600 stall is probably why you got such a good 60 foot. I'm going to try for a high 1.5 to low 1.6 and I'd be happy with that. My best so far is 1.64.

You know what your shift mph/rpm settings are for the tranny with the 3.91s? I think unless I have a template it will be a pain to figure out.

Your mods sound like mine, but i have a ported TB and pulley.

Joe, when are you going to get your gears installed?

I have the the shift points at 6200, but on the logs of the run the rpms go to 6500 and sometimes 6700 before it actually makes the shift. If you have HP Tuners I can email you a copy of the tune if you like.

My shift points have been right on the money. But lately when it's cold it hits the rev limiter on the 2-3 shift. Think I may need to bump the mph or rpm down.

PM sent with email. Thanks.

A 1.57 is exactly what I had on my 11.27 run (275/50/15 MT drs)

With 17" Nittos it's gonna be difficult to do however.
Not impossible.
When I ran this (cam only - Feb '07) it was with 17" Nitto's, stock gear, full interior, etc...

That's outstanding for 17" Nittos! I had some 1.64s with my 17" nittos, but couldn't be consistent with them.

I had the OEM tranny up until I went with the gears & 4K converter. At 100+ passes the stocker wasn't shifting when commanded. RPM Level 5 now.

Agreed. They worked well on a bolt on car, but they were hit & miss once I put the cam in. Just happened to hit that day

Just started this morning on the way to work.....car won't shift from 2-3 under full throttle. Just tried lowering the shift rpm and the shift mph. Neither worked. It's like it doesn't even try to shift to 3rd. I even tried manully shifting it to 3rd and it still bounced off the rev limiter. Does that every time now. This is my second stock tranny.

Got the gears installed today. So far I really like them. Once they have some miles on them I'll floor the car and see if it shifts from 2-3 now. Shop put the original tune back in. Most think It's something I did with the tune....i don't think so but I hope that's it. I'm not real optimistic though.

Any update if it was the tranny or the tune. (I looked around and didnt see a different thread on it)

Do you have your alignment setup for drag racing specs?

Alignment and suspension is completely stock.

Due to a timing chain breaking, this thread is no longer relevant for me because I'm not cam only anymore now
