I bought the GTO as a toy, but it was so much fun/easy to use as a DD that I sold my DD.
Looking back I probably should have went with the Cobra for the situation I WAS in. Now that I have a child I am glad I went with the GTO since I can still pack him in the back seat and still drive my "fun" car. (Our other vehicle is a Jeep Cherokee )
If I wasn't buying a C6 as my next toy I would definitely buy a Cobra.

You can buy FI'd build GTOs for around 20k.
I love Cobras, but they still have a crappy interior and the exterior too closely resembles the rustang body style for me. They are definitely performance capable though.
If you have a set budget, the GTO will be much easier to swing, plus more mod money.

cobra.......Pontiac may not exist in the future and if you are financing the car then it is not going to be worth **** when Pontiac gets the axe. so unless you plan on keeping this car forever i wouldnt do it.
other then that i am saving my pennies for a ls9 swap. then you cobra boys are **** out of luck.
