In that case Cobra all the way. Pully/cooling mod/shifter/clutch/DR/tune = failry cheap to mod monster. To make the same power with an LS2 GTO would require H/C.

I bought the GTO as a toy, but it was so much fun/easy to use as a DD that I sold my DD.

Looking back I probably should have went with the Cobra for the situation I WAS in. Now that I have a child I am glad I went with the GTO since I can still pack him in the back seat and still drive my "fun" car. (Our other vehicle is a Jeep Cherokee )

If I wasn't buying a C6 as my next toy I would definitely buy a Cobra.

You can buy FI'd build GTOs for around 20k.

I love Cobras, but they still have a crappy interior and the exterior too closely resembles the rustang body style for me. They are definitely performance capable though.

If you have a set budget, the GTO will be much easier to swing, plus more mod money.

Why in the world would you do an LS9 swap instead of forging an LQ4 or LQ9 and boosting it? You will make much better power for much cheaper.
