Default hp question

hey guys im looking into getting a 2004 gto A4 this spring or summer, i want to know what kind of power it is going to take to get it to run low 12s. I currenty have a Trans am, i just bought a cam and ls6 intake and am going to buy heads very soon. My goal is to put all of these on the GTO, along with the H/C/I i would also buy a stall, DRs and full exhaust, will this kind of power and mods get me to run at least low 12s? goal is high 11s, but with the extra weight low twelves would be good too. thanks everybody

there are some that are running 11's with just bolt ons. i am not one of them i am running low 12's with just a cam but i am also an ls2. with h/c/i should safely get you to your goal

GTO already has the LS6 intake. Its the same engine that was in the 01-02 F-Body. So you don't have to swap intakes.

Long tubes, stall, tires, your cam, and a tune should get you there. At least come close.

Wrong, during the production(01-02) they ran out of ls1 intakes so they started using ls6 intakes

Every 04 came with a LS6 intake on it ... my car is a Dec 03 build and I sold my LS6 intake here when I bought my 90mm Fast.

Also there are no 04s running 11s with just bolt ons.

...Man this thread has some bad info in it.

If you want to go 11s NA you will need a CAI, LTs, better flowing heads, bigger cam and upgrade to 90mm TB and intake. Also you'll need to get a higher stall. 3.73 gears should lock getting into the 11s. ...your cam looks like it would work fine, you don't need a hugh stick. ...and even with this you are going to have to drop a **** load of weight.

Regarding an 04 going high 11's in bolt on form has not been done as far as I've seen. A few F-bodies did it I beleive, but there were gutted, with different transmissions and slicks. Maybe a LS2 GTO might be able to do it, again in a gutted form. A form that does not even resemble show room or comfort quality that the GTO portrays.

It's a head/cam car now. The 11.98 bolt on is more impressive IMO.

That 11.983 run was with a -1400 DA which corrects to 12.1 run still impressive but the car at that time wouldn't have run that 11 anywhere else.

...I think the fastest LS1 NA is about a 10.6. Also run in NJ
