2nd gear burnouts last longer and will get the tires hotter.

on my nittos last year i would launch at 3-3.5k ran 1.9's all the time and did cut a 1.8..
Nittos are sold now and gonna buy some Mickey Dr's.

If you are launching on street tires, I would launch at 1800 RPM and slip the clutch a bit. When my car was stock, I was running consistent 1.9x 60 fts and low 13 sec ETs without any problem.

if that is just a street tire there is almost nothing he can do with that kind of power and a 18" street tire

I had a 94mph trap speed in the 1/8th, so I know the car has the power, I just suck at launching

BIG *** BURNOUT !!!!!!

is it a M6?

pull into the burnout box (with the rear tires)
put the car in 2nd gear,
rev to 5K, dump the clutch, then put your left foot on the brake
hold it there

hold the revs at 4-5K rpm for about 5-8 seconds (2-4 seconds of really good smoke)
then let off the brake, keep your foot on the gas
spin the tires all the way thru the burnout area (you should hear an awesome screach !!!)

then practace launching around 3-4Krpm slipping the clutch the first 40-60foot

alot of people will tell you that doing a burnout on "Street" (all season) tires won't help

those people don't cut 1.8x 60' times on there cars stock

the tires spin faster

if you're gettin wheel hop (even after the drag bags)
you may wanna look into a stiffer rear anti-sway bar

I love mine
