I just ordered a black 04 GTO, and from what I understand the GTO comes with 225/50/17-yuck! I want to find out how wide a tire I can fit on the car. I want to go with a chrome wheel. 275/35/19 on the rear and 245/40/18 on the front. Or 40/18's all around. What do you guys think?

Are you sure that is the stock tire size? I find that very hard to believe.
<EDIT> I just checked the Holden web-site. In the Autralian version, it comes standard with 235/40-18's. Interesting, huh. I still can't believe it wont have at least 235 or 245's. Look at tire sizes on other GM cars and the 225 just doesn't make sense. I do think you are on the right track with you choices, though.

It has been confirmed that the GTO is coming with 245/45 ZR17 W-rated BFGoodrich g-Force TA tires. I can send you the updated brochure page with this info if you'd like...
And congrats on the order - I'm getting black w/ red and M6 - ordered in August.

Try and find an Aussie Holden sight and ask about clearance for sizes. I like your 18 & 19 idea if you can keep the sidewall 35 series or taller in the back. Should look killer

I like the stock rims on the car. GM brought the body closer around the tires and from what I'm seeing in the mags..
It looks good..
JMO and I'm sure the aftermarket rims you decide on will be awesome.
Good luck

I just found an add for billet ralley II wheels, in this months "HPP". I'm thinking about a nice set of 19's to slip on the thing.

Here's a link to aftermarket GTO wheels. This is the first website I have found with credible fitment choices.
http://www.bigwheels.net/packagesear...hiclemodel=GTO
But who really cares? Can't see the wheels when they're spinning anyway.
