which short shifter?

which short shifter?
I just bought an '05 GTO and want to install a short shifter. I've been told that the GMM Ripshifter is good but can be noisy; I've heard of the Hurst competition but don't know much about it. I do like the hurst black shift **** though. I heard the B&M is garbage; and heard Billet Specialties makes a good short shifter but is pricy. Anyone have any experience with any of these short shifters? And do I still need to get the skip shift eliminator if I get a short shifter?
Thanks

I fitted a Billet Pro Shifter and very happy with it. Very short, and beautifully made bit of kit, but was expensive. Still get some noise/rattle but not bad. Noise is going to get worse with any short shifter by their nature.
Most people I know have the GMM shifter and love it, but I preferred the action of the Billet.
Have a good search around, plenty of comment on the options on many GTO specific sites.

SNL Performance also sells a kit to bolt the Hurst handle/**** of your choice to the GMM. The PERFECT set up IMO. Everyone who has one loves them, plus it give the car a little nostalgia feel without the crappy Hurst shifter base that is notorious for failing. Virtually no noise, and nice short, crisp shifts.

I love my GMM race setup.
But on a side note I do have a LSS shifter handle sitting here with no reason to keep it.
Somebody on here PM'd me about buying it for $35 but i cant remember who and all my PM's got wiped out. So $35 for a LSS.....
