Default GTO Owners Cam install questions

I have a friend that wants me to install a cam, springs, timing chain and oil pump in his 06 GTO. I have done several f-body cam installs, but I am not sure if there is any differences from the GTO to the F-body and from a ls1 to a ls2

What all do I remove for the install....bumper?

I use a 5/16 dowel rod for my ls1 car......is that the same for the ls2??

on my car you have to drop the oil pan down a little to have clearance to replace the oil pump and o ring...........will I have room to do this on the GTO with out jacking the motor up??

Which is easier F-body or the GTO??

Any other hints or tips would really be appreciated

thanks,

Brent

No need to remove the bumper... just pull the radiator out and hang the ac condenser from the hood. Plenty of room. Dowel rod should be fine. We used aluminum rods, 1/4" i believe. Didn't replace the pump/timing chain in mine.

There is actually a writeup for this somewhere, but I can't find it right now, and need to get to work. Search over on ls1gto.com for a document called "ls1gtocaminstall".
