I went with pacesetters. I have had 0 issues with them. Get a good dyno tune after the header install and you will be good.

Long tube stainless works, kooks and pacesetter are all good some more expensive but all will work. I ran without cats but thats your choice. If your worried about emissions just get hi-flow cats. Port/polish tb, tb(fast, bbk, pp, etc.)intake manifold(fast, bbk, pp, etc.) or you can get the 90/90 combo from fast, maf, good dyno tune, etc. Then you can move on to cam, heads, s/c, turbo, etc. Its all your choice bro.

Kooks are the way to go.

Kooks are nice but pricey...It depends on your long term goals. Cats don't make that much difference on these cars except for the fact that they make it raspy when you remove them. I actually like the way JBA shorties sound and the bolt right in without having to remove things like your rack and pinion. You still get 30horse and IMO it sounds better when you do exhaust than long tubes do. K&N intake, or Volant, or New Era are all good and will give you between 15-20hp...You can find all this stuff used on LS1GTO.com in the for sale section. As far as cam goes, just watch your lift and make you get springs to support the lift of the cam. Either port or have ported, your throttle body...Thats an inexpensive mod...Also a under drive crank pulley helps...

I have pacesetters Long tubes, 3in catless mids which i got for 499.00, I also have a K&N and a slp lm1 exhaust. Made 322whp and 328trq before tune, after tune I made 348whp and 351trq. I did the install myself to save money.

Another cheap upgrade is getting a set of 243 heads from a ls6/ls2. gain atleast 20whp and can pick them up for 500.00... IMO dont do a cam without atleast doing these heads.

I would get pacesetter headers, the new ones install just fine and you will save a TON of money. You can get your Throttle body ported fairly cheap which will help out a the track or you could get an pulley which will give you an extra 5hp or so at the tires. The main thing is to get a dyno tune after the headers install. It makes a HUGE difference

If your an AUTO I would pick up some sticky tires and a 3000 stall which won't add any HP but it will make your car a butt load faster in the 1/4 mile

if your a 6spd then buy some sticky tires and a new clutch because your going to need it later anyway.

But Headers, mid pipes, CAI and a pulley will you pretty good

After that drag bags ($45 bucks) helps at the strip a BUNCH! and Sticky tires.

Just PLEASE don't look past getting sticky tires. I learned the hard way that no matter how much HP you put down on the dyno, if you can't hook... you won't win a damn thing.

I run jba shorties, didnt want to spend the extra money on mids. Not worth the extra money for a little bit more noise. super easy to install

the intake and exhaust could have waited if you wanted "go-fast". they don't hardly do a thing on a lightly modded car. Kooks, Stainless, SLPs are all pretty good long tube headers in that order. a tune would be my next step. either that or a cam and stall with that tune
