Need help identifying vin engine came out of Hello, I need some help proving the 17,000 mile 5.7engine I bought came out of the vehicle (04 GTO) I was given the vin to. The VIN is 6G2VX12G94L286699
I cannot come up with a vin derivative based on the info below and the same is true for the transmission.
The engine has a casting number of 12561168.
In front of the (right) passsenger side head there is a laser etch that reads VF040620873.
On the rear of the (left) drivers side head there is a sticker that reads:
4MB
104MBK040620873.
On the drivers side opposite of the starter the pad reads:
K256
904

The block casting matches a LS1/LS6 Block
Your passenger side Cylinder head should have a 241 stamped in the lower right corner, if you are looking at the head.
