I'm not a big fan of these threads myself so I apologize upfront. Anyhow I've searched on LS2GTO and just can't seem to find what I am looking for. I'm heading to the track in about a month to take advantage of some good weather and a buddy of mine along with my dad will be coming. My buddy has a 6-speed C5 FRC with most bolt-ons and he's talking some real smack. I think I will out ET him with the Goat eventhough I know his car is faster (He can't launch for the life of him lol). We are going to put a case of beer or some cash down just for a friendly competition but curious what you think I will run with the GTO? (BTW track is just barely above sea level and DA should be close to 0)

BTW last time it was run my dad ran a terrible 13.6 with 2.3 60' bone stock. God the combination of torque management and wheel hopping is terrible lol, luckily that's all gone now. I don't see how it won't be in the 12's but we'll see I guess.

 

You need to take the WS6 if you wanna win.....because he should be able to take you fairly easy.

You really dont have a lot of mods..... If you had Longtubes and a tune I would say 12.7, but your pretty much stock.... Thats why im saying a low low 13...... But if you hook up real well id say you might MIGHT crack off a 12.9..... DA plays a big factor in this as well...

 

I'll have it there too. He runs low 13's with his Vette but he traps low teens. I'm hoping he still can't launch lol.

Yea DA will be key. The car is begging for LT's that will definetly be next on list along with some underdrives and a catback. I just assumed these damn LS2's ran 12's easier.

 

You never know.... I ran 13.2 @ 105 Bone stock so anything is possible.....

should be able to get 12s with the mickeys! Becareful tho ive seen them break 2 stock driveshafts on hard launches...kinda why im running nittos(rather break traction than a drive shaft)

we have stock 04's in the 12'9 and 05-06 stock at 12.8-12.7 here so i say throw his as for a loop and spank him...thats what i do with vettes...i havent been beat by one yet ( on the track)...they cant hook for **** so as long as you can launch you have him

Haha me too!!! It's going down October 10th. I can't wait, I'm more interested in seeing how much quicker I run in the firebird than before but it will be exciting to see if I can shut up my friend who talks sooo much crap lol. I'm going to pick my sister up from college and bring her along so she can take some videos

what is exactly done to the vette? Id say you should be good considering hes not a good driver. If he cant get that thing off the line good, you will take him for sure.

 

One of our locals, Dennis, has a '06 A4 with only 2 mods:
-hi stall converter
-ud pulley

He runs consistent 12.7s on DRs

 

I think you will be in the 12's. My buddies bone stock 06 on a tire with drag bags went 12.9.. If he hooks then just hope he misses a gear..
