Default Vararam installed on 2004 (pics)

Well, I got the Vararam to work on a 2004. It is awesome. Period. I am now running speed density and my IAT's were at 65 degrees at the highest reading. Some pics:

The only modifications needed were deleting the MAF and going speed density and replacing the radiator hose with a bendable one to allow for more clearance. With my current mods of cam, longtubes, no cats, and the stall set not to lockup on the dyno, I put down 360 whp. Now for some heads...

I like it, it give it that old school look..... Although i would have left the heads and valve covers unpainted..... Reminds me of the old inline 6's all painted up... Still looks good non the less..

Hah! I know exactly what you are talking about. It does have that I-6 look. When I get some 243 heads, that should remedy the problem.

Sweet. Doesn't sound too difficult. Evidently there are a bunch of people that aren't very creative, because a lot of them say it just will not work. Probably because they want to sell their own version of an OTRCAI instead. I would have gone Pontiac blue instead of orange

Who says it won't work cause they want to sell their own version? Svede1212 on the other board listed why it would/wouldn't work and gave suggestions on how to remedy that. Fact is Svede1212 makes an intake that drops right into an 04 and still uses a MAF, and looks a lot better.....lol.

Svede's intake is sweeeet, but I have a massive tranny cooler, which prevented me from using his setup.

Is your tranny cooler the size of your condensor?!?!?? LOL....I have a fairly large tranny cooler acting as a power steering cooler and have zero issues....it does not hang very far down behind the grilles.

The OP blatantly has an 05-06 hood. That was one of the reasons on ls1gto.com he said he even wanted to do this.
