Not really a Midsize cam would be in the lower 500's for lift.... Anything larger that a 580 lift is in the bigger range.... How big of a cam do you think your gonna fit into an LS1.... lol... This is one of the bigger cams that are not going to sacrafise drivability....

Here is a Vid from when I was getting tuned up, This is the first pull but not the best pull, The quality on the other vids are really shitty and this is the best one... on this run i put down 385 / 377 before we got her running good..... I dont know if you will be able to make out the TQ band off the screen but here is the vid for the meantime anyways.... Best pull to date is 407.42 / 390.12 on the same dyno with my slipping clutch...

Good points. Then again its all what people are willing to Daily drive, to some its too big of a cam to others not. But i agree with you that LS1s can take some big cams, at a meet way back in the day i saw an 04 goat that idled at 2000 but yet was a daily driver haha

Just for the record I DD my car with the Torquer V.3 and its not bad. Really nice at a stoplight but it never dies and doesnt surge to bad. Also the car went 11.87 @ 116 cam only with no suspenion or drivetrain mods.
To the OP, in all actuality your going to buy this cam and the chances are very good that you'll never buy another one. This being said you'll never really know if your cam was a good or bad decision. Any cam you go with is gonna wake the car up so much that you'll be more than happy with your money spent. So really you cant go wrong. Just my .02 that I give all my buddies before they get a cam. If I were you I'd find a deal on a decent cam and then save a $$ while I was at it. Like I said just my .02 take it or leave it.

Learn to read guys, My cam is one of the bigger cams you can toss in without really ******* with the drivability... If you know anything about motors or cams, bigger doesnt always mean better.....

not always but most of the time yeah bigger is better!
Like multiple people have said on here and my friends cars they have no problem with drivability at all with big cams, its all in the TUNE!

No....you haven't done much research. I have seen stock bottom end LS1's with 24X 24X cams that idle and don't buck. Its all in the tune.

A cam of that size in a LS1 is going to surge regardless of what anyone thinks... I have owned a few LSX cars trust me bro, Ya its all in the tune but i dont care how good you are with a cam that size its gonna surge.

The bigger duration cams move the peak HP up in the RPM range at the sacrifice of mid range torque. If you don't mind are banging gears on a M6 at 6800-7000 RPM, then go huge if you want. But, you better build the motor to handle high RPM, not only valve train, but also a beefy bottom end too (like especially rod bolts). At some point, you are really getting out of the realm of good daily driver cam once you pass a certain point. Yeah, some of it depends on how much you can tolerate and certainly the tune is critical. I know enough people running Torquer cams in LS1 engines to know that can work fine in a DD, even if you have a stalled A4. Not sure I'd go much above that if I had an auto in a DD. Now a M6, especially with lower gears can tolerate a bigger cam. On the other hand, modest size cams work well with heavy cars (in case you didn't know it, we have heavy cars). Ultimately, it's your choice, so choose wisely.
