2004 GTO Exhaust Questions....

i would need around $500 to get the pacesetters and install them. im thinking ill just do the delete for now and get pacesetters this summer. if i dont like it ill throw some mufflers on it. I dont think it'll sound bad... im gonna do it right when i get the headers i just cant throw out a grand right now. i dont have it

If that's the case, I would just save the money now to get headers later. A cat back basically doesn't do anything in the way of performance on a car with less than 430ish rwhp. Its more of a sound preference. The stock cat back actually sounds pretty good with headers and it doesn't cost anything other than the headers to get that sound.
Just something to think about

Alright....change of plans....I was planning on runnig headers and Spintech mufflers eventually so i was thinking it would be a waist to spend money on a muffler delete when i can just get the spintechs now til i get headers....But i went on spintechs websit and theres about 1,000,000 different mufflers on there. I know i want the super pro streets but im not sure which ones to do. I dont want a catback i just want to get the mufflers and get it all welded up with the stock tips.... Can anyone tell me the exact mufflers to order that will fit or does it matter. I want to run 2.5 inch mufflers too. Thanks

Want loud mufflers that are inexpensive? Check out the Dynomax race bullet mufflers.

Installing 2.5" diameter mufflers on the stock 2.25" catback is a waste, not to mention hard to do. Something with 2.25" inlet and outlet, about 11-12" long body (give or take) and 17-18" overall length (give or take) should work.

you will get a million different answers on exhaust bro, but if you want loud and something that sounds good, get spintech and an xpipe, ive had a few exhaust setups, including magnaflow, and flow master. neither compare to the sound of spintech. heres a video of my gto with the spintechs.

think about what you want too do to the car when you buy/plan exhaust setups,do you want to do alot of mods (500 plus) or just keep it mainly stock with a few bolt on's (under 500)... i have the JBA shorty headers with the stock exhaust and it sounds fine but i don't want to get attention either, I prefer the sleeper sound and look it's just a little different and nobody expects the response they get when they play.sometimes too much exhaust can kill HP/TQ a little.

i think you deff should have done your research. i am by no means saying spintech is a bad company, they are far from it. they sound really good but there are far better choices.( my opinion) like for my girlfriends setup she has a 04 goat, and she went pacesetters, with stainless works 3in catback/ w turbo mufflers, and it is by far the best sounding exhaust on a gto that ive heard. and i have heard a ton of diff setups. but then again you said you where on a lower budget. so your options are lower. but we saved money by taking the old system out and selling it, and doing the headers are selfs to. then we took it to a buddies shop for the rest.

I would say go with a magnaflow exhaust only for the fact that Ive heard them and they sound great and there stainless steal so you arent going to have to worry about rusting out especially if u are in a state that gets snow and some real shitty winters. Just my opinion and opinions are like ******** everyone has one.

Should have gone with LT's and kept the stocker exhaust but its not my car. How does that saying go...........the luster of a good deal on cheap parts wears off long before the lasting glow you get from waiting and buying quality and doing things right.
