13.7 @ 106? wtf
Why the hell is my goat so slow? I took it down the 1/4 for the first time last sunday and was expexting a faster et. I'm happy with the mph but my et sucks *****. .my car is an 04 auto with long tubes and off road mids. It also has a hot air intake. Most cars running that mile per hour were in the high 12 s.my 60 was 2.1 eight was 8.8. I've ran it in 1/8 and pulled many 8.6 at about 84 mph with a 1.9 60. All thse runs have been an 245 45 17 azenis. What am I doing wrong?

A buddy of mine has an 06 gto (6 liter) with a manual 6, some nitto Drag Radials... other than that and different exhaust, he only manage to run 13 flat and never got under 2.1 60ft.
I'mma go ahead and say that having a race weight of around 4,000 lbs, with the auto 5.7 power plant, you're not gonna have a great e.t., you definitely need more top end power pulling those long auto gears. Maybe a stall and some Drag radials to get you moving a lil faster low end will get you into low 13's. 12's... you need a lil more drastic performance mods... h/c swap. By the way, careful with the launches, that IRS is about as bad as the f body 10 bolts

lol.
We ran 14's in a stock goat, with great driving(powershifting 6 speed).
Then,.. we did a cold air, and a predator tune, the car goes mid 12's all day on a street tire. Same driver.
The factory tune, really sucks. It's too bad, as the car would have fared better to the "motortrend crowd" of mag readers,... which would have helped sales alot.
Oh well.

The best tips I can give to a fellow A4 driver is first off, I recommend launching in 3 and not D. If you're running 13.6 with a 2.1 60ft. Get some drag radials and heat them up good and try for some 1.7-1.8 60's and you're gonna be damn close to a 12.99 run. Your run is definately normal for an 04, if not even a little above average. Most 04 guys barely break 14's. Seat time and Drag radials and I would almost guarantee 12's.
Plus you have to look at it this way. Trapping the same MPH as someone running faster times, generally means you're spinning off the line. I wouldn't be surprised for you to hit a 12.99 and run a slower mph. I used to race and old pickup about 8 years ago and I would run 12.2x all day long and never trap over 108mph. It's all in the 60ft. And an even better example, when I first got my GTO and did cam and a stall, I ran a 12.62 @ 106mph, but had a 1.7 60ft.
Good rule of thumb, but not 100% accurate: For every .1 you knock off your 60ft, you should improve around .2 in the 1/4 mile.

Your 60s are bad. It's called a "cold air intake" not hot
With the 04 you don't make as much power over the whole power band, so you really need a tune to get into the high 12s with your current mods, I would honestly expect low 13s out of your car. 12s is doubtful.
