Default GTO myths are true

GTO Myths true about the top 5 GTO common problems i have read on this board.1.The horn goes off by itself sometimes,2.The radio volume cranks by itself and scares the ***** off you and 3.Junk interior is coming apart at the seams. Not really complaining though,i have had the Barbados Blue 04 in the sig for a while and has 62K and never broke anything mechanical.

Wow, those are all false....I have many more miles and none of those issues, nor have I ever heard of those issues in large crowds of other GTO owners.

Junk interior? Negative...best interior GM has put in a car save some caddilacs in a looonnnggg time.

Radio, do you have the auto radio setting on that increases volume with speed?

Horn going off by itself? Never had that one....I'm sure its an easy fix or a horn power/ground cable issue which is a very easy fix on most cars.

I guess treating mine with leather cleaner and taking care of it I never had that issue. Around 60K I guess I took my rear seats out and put them in storage for extra cargo room, lol.

Rear seat seems splitting is a common problem in any car though.....

I guess window tint within the first 1000 mine saved mine over 4 years ago? Never had ANY of those issues. Interior is one of the best from GM I have ever seen. Go drive and f body around the block.

Im opposite of you guys. My interior is tip top. My stereo does however increase dramatically every once in a while. Scaring me because im not expecting it. Its always at real low speeds.

And the thing with the horn. Yeah mine does it randomly. It doesnt do it very often. Maybe once a month or so.

SOmetimes my alarm goes off if after i lock it, thats about it, everything else is great, but the car has had tints for like 90% of its life so that may be helping the rear seats.

My horn has gone off occasionally (06), rear seat stitching is common, but easily fixed. Radio, never heard of that one. Easy fix though, get a double din nav system and that is solved.

Interior on this car is amazing, why are you calling it junk? What else do you have that tops it?

never had any issues on mine (had new for 4 years and 67k miles)...

did have sagging springs and crappy radius rod bushings, as well as an overly clunky drivetrain (lash; 6-speed), but those were all fixable and didn't take away from the rest of the car! The radio was crap, but again, something that could be replaced easily...

I've had mine since new. Other than the paint coming off the door handles (fixed), I've had none of those other problems.

However, since I live in Central Texas and the heat seems to cause the ignition lock problem, I have ordered one of the revised lock cylinders and will be replacing mine as preventive maintenance. http://www.gastiresoil.com/showthread.php?t=2026

I have had the ignition cylinder problem, had it fixed under warranty.

Other than that, no problems. Interior is solid, no stereo issues, no horn issues.
