Default Front tires are being cut when I hit bumps

I picked up my 2006 GTO last week. Th car has 18x8.5 AZA wheels on the front. The front fenders are rolled. What can I do to prevent the tires from hitting the fenders on bumps? Would I switch out the springs?

Yeah, stock struts and springs. The tires are 245/40-18s.

The correct size for the 18 wheel on the GTO is 235/40-18 so the first thing is the tires are 10 mm too wide on a car that is real close with stock tires. The next thing is, do the wheels have the correct offset for the car? Turn the wheeel all the way to one direction and look inside at the clearance between the tire and the strut. From the factory the tires will almost rub on the struts, if you have a bunch of room I would guess the wheels have the wrong offset.

Are the tires on the rear of the car the same size? I think 245's will work on the rear.

As far as needing new springs or struts, how many miles and your sure it all stock? If the car has been lowered this might be the problem.

The tires are real close to the struts. Looksl ike it has the correct off set. I will need to buy new tires because the ones on the car right now are cut pretty bad. I will replace with 235s. There are 265s on the rear. The car hasn't been lowered. I asked the original owner. Will the 235's still rub?

Would going with 225 nitto 555 over the 245s work. They are only 9.02 wide versus 9.74 of the 245s.

i believe most people try to stay with an 8 inch wide wheel in front and no wider than a 235 tire. also id look into seeing if the upper strut moounts are worn as this will cause rubb issues too

I can't answer about the width of the Nitto's only to say why put Nitto 555 on the front?

Looking at the strut mounts is another good idea along with the proper width of tire on the front.

Inside the drivers door is a sticker showing the proper tires size and air pressure for the GTO. If you follow those sizes you should not have any issues with the tires on the car.

I have 245/40 18 Hankook tires on 18x8.5, +38mm offset, in front, with no rubbing. What is the offset of your AZA wheels?
