In my 2005, I sucked it up tonight at he track. Running 8.7 at 82.7 with 2.0 60' times. This was a 13.5 run. very disappointed myself....I let the car get heatsoaked

i ran 8.5 @ 86mph with bolt ons only in my camaro at union hill with crappy 1800rpm clutch dumps and 2.0 60ft......i wish i would have practiced slipping the clutch, the times would've been better......i think it might help if you try to slip the clutch off the line, you should be in the high 7's i would think.....rev up to about 4k and slip it, ease into the powerband and try not to spin at all......also, you might keep and eye out on craigslist for some drag radials......last year i found a set of nitto 555r's(315/35/17) for 50 bucks......they weren't exactly brand new, but i got several 1/8 mile runs at the track and about 3k miles on the street out of them, then sold them for 50 bucks...good luck bro

yep, just bolt ons....haven't been back to the track since the cam......there's really no use in going until i get a set of drag radials

thanks man....i don't want to go as far as to say it's a factory freak, but the car pulls really hard for a stock cube ls1....the tuner that i took it to (for the cam upgrade) was surpised to hear that it still has the factory 3:42 gears......once he got to drive it, he assumed i had already done the 4:10 gear upgrade

My 04 A4 ran 9.1@79 bone stock with 87 octane in the tank. I had just bought the car, and the used car lot had 87 in it. This was on a warm summer day.

I bought a pair of pacesetters, and a superchips tuner with the 91 octane tune and a k&n drop in filter and got 8.4@84mph, 13.32@105 in the 1/4

I added a 3600 stall and got 8.0@85mph, 12.77@107 in the 1/4

I added an SLP LM1 and got 7.9@86mph, 12.60@108 in the 1/4

I added a Lingenfelter CAI & 3.91's and got 7.77@87mph, 12.32@110 in the 1/4
Best 60' was 1.62 on 245 nitto 555R's

Thanks! And Yes, All runs performed in similar weather, the winter. The summer heat does affect ET's and mph. The best bang for the buck was the stall converter, headers and the superchips tune. The gears, catback & intake didn't make a big of a difference. They did help, but not as good as the others.

I'm going to get Weld Racing rims all around. I've heard from people at the track that this setup helps out quite a bit (.3~.4 on average)

Hey Roell, you should check out gconnoyer's drag set up in the western classifieds section. Nice setup at a good price.

Don't get a drag radial. M6 cars need a full slick.

That track hooks terrible to begin with. You should pick up a full second with slick and a decent launch. I'd guess you were 2.2-2.3 short times.

You sure as hell aren't in the 12 second club with those #'s. Very hard to believe you went that fast in a bolt on car. Assuming you sprayed??

Those times reflect a na car more than a nitrous car.

I don't know of any bolt on GTO's trapping 95mph in the 1/8. I could be wrong but seems doubtful.

Went back through my old track notebook for the 05 GTO

Stock with 160 stat 2500 miles, full weight and great DA at Richmond.

1.91 8.38@84.91 13.04@106.18

Added Nittos and removed spare and jack, 7500 miles. Good DA but not great. At Richmond with no track prep.

1.99 8.41@85.62 13.00@107.99 Shifted it myself.

Yea. That would be top 5 mph for a cam only GTO let alone a bolt on one. I guess with enough weight reduction and a -2000 DA anything is possible.

Just looked at his threads.. car weighs 3200ish and makes around 375rwhp.

He cuts 1.5 short times.. the et and mph match. If it was a nitrous car he would have a better mph.
