Default 1/8 th mile times in our GTO's

Have an 04 M6. Took it last night for the first time since I put cam/heads. Car has stage 2 clutch, lightweight flywheel, torquer v.2, and stock 243's w/ beehives. Ran consistent 8.90's it was quick passes So no 60ft info. What times have you guys ran cause this didn't impress me at all. My car stock best time was 8.99. I gained 94rwhp & 70rwtq and didn't gain but .10 on my 1/8th mile? Idk just looking for some answers for comparison. Thanks guys.

What was your 1/8th mile trap speeds? You are probably ******* it off the line or spinning.

84mph trap, and I was taking off fairly easy so I didn't murder the tires. Car was hooking strong at about 2,500 rpms but anything above it would spin. I mean I don't think i should need drag radials than run better than this. Car dyno'd 386rwhp & 374rwtq.

You need drs or slicks, especially with this car and especially with an m6.

Ive only taken mine down a couple times and was within the past two weeks. Bone stock A4 car at 3889 lbs with BFG Gsports 8.86 at 81 mph. But the part in the owners manual that tells you lower than 93 octane reduces acceleration is not a lie. The other night with maybe only 3 gallons of gas in the tank i couldnt break past a damn 9.20 and wasnt spinning and kept wondering why I had dropped almost a half second in a week? Then it hits me, you dumbass theres **** low octane in it!

i would really like to see 1/4 mile mph to see what 90+ hp is worth. making the car leave is your problem with 1/8 et.

You should be trapping every bit of 89-90mph in the 1/8 with the hp & tq numbers u have listed. I bet your 60's are a lot worse than you think. They weren't listing the 60's on the 1/8th slips?? I've never heard of a track doing this.

No its like hot laps. There's so many cars, and they don't give you slips. Clarksville speedway. I ran 7 times and 5 of them were in the 8.90's. I took off all 3k rpms or less and didn't spin much. I was expecting 8.50's @ 88 ish. Kinda disappointed but ill just have to work on gettin some Dr's and see what happens.

I bet you were spinning more than you thought...get some nice DRs it will make a big difference. My '06 ran 8.5s @ 92-93 w/ sweet 2.4-2.5 60' times, LOL. This was on stock 235 Potenzas and spinning like crazy, almost like driving on ice. Car was trapping 117-118 and running mid- high 12s, haha. Haven't had a chance to run it w/ good tires yet...gonna borrow some 265/40/18 MTs. I run 265/35/18 RE-11s on the street. Big diff. over the stockers. The stock tires aren't even adequate for a stock GTO, let alone a modded one.

That's weird. It only takes like 2 seconds for a slip to print and 2 more seconds for a car to roll up stop and grab it. I bet once you get to see your 60's that will tell the story.

Yeah, this place could probably do alot better. It was a midnight madness/hot laps I went to. Kind of getting old & run down. Track prep could be alot better and there isn't any lights at the end so its hard as hell to find the turn around. I'll probably try to go to a better track next time. Bad news is that track is 1:00-1:15 away from me, and its 1/8th. Next closest 1/8 is around 2hrs away and nearest 1/4ths are are 2:30+hrs away.

Another weird thing, light turned green... I took off and spun a bit. Was ahead of a new SS the whole way, he was maybe at my back bumper when we crossed. My friends said he beat me by .08 seconds.... how, if the whole way he was behind me, did he beat me?

He probably cut a horrible light so it appeared you beat him when really he just fell asleep at the tree. That would be the only thing that would make sense besides just a pure malfunction at the track. That sucks that its so far away to the nearest 1/4 mile track. You should get a set of DR's and make the haul to the 1/4 mile track and u wont be disappointed. Fortunately for me im only about 20 mins away from an extremely nice track. Goodluck next time out.

Were pretty similiar in mods and my 1/8th is anywhere from a 7.8 to a 8.0 with trap speeds from 88 to 90mph. I know my prob is the 60 cause i'm spinning and i think thats your problem. Like someone said already get some Et street bias plys with some skinnies. Trust me you dont wanna have lane walk. The Bias plys will absorb the shock better then DR radials so you dont break anything. Another thing rev the sucker up there anywhere from 4500 to 5k and knee jerk it.

I ran an 8.85@86mph... spinning and hopping all the way. It takes skill to do this type of racing in a M6. Not point and shoot A4's
