Stock camshaft here. 6100rpm. I read the LS1 springs are quite weak and it is not safe to increase the limiter even with the stock camshaft as the valves will float.

Now, I also read on the Aussie site that folks there would add LS6 springs to pull an additional several hundred of usable rpm from the engine. Just tossing that last part out there in case.

With the stock cam and springs it will always be at about 6100rpm as fuel shutoff is 6170-6200rpm depending on how well calibrated the tach is.

It depends where your car stops making power.

Ideally, you want to shift around 800 RPM AFTER, peak power. Any sooner, and you're wasting useable power, and later and you're staying in a gear not making power.

What he said. I shift at about 6,500-6,600 RPM which drops me into the 4,000s where I'm right below peak torque.

On the stock internals, what rpm can you safely shift on the ls1?

I'm about the same here too on a trex cam and bolt ons. I used to short shift around 5500, sometimes up to 6k, till i got dyno tuned and finally saw where my power was.

Sorry, didn't realize this was a goat thread

Stock I wouldn't be shifting over 6,100......your power is dropping off and risking valve float beyond that

Ah, the beauty of an automatic.
My shift points are set at 6,500rpm and it only drops back to 5,100rpm.
