Are 6 speed GTOs more desired or the automatics? I have seen A LOT of automatic GTOs and some 6 speeds. Are the 6 speeds more expensive or the autos? which one is more desired?
It would also help if someone who had a GTO would respond.

The six speed makes for a more "muscle car" feeling while driving.Theres no look like that of a "fast four cylinder" driver when you down shift to third gear and walk by them, when they're screaming along at full throttle. Lolz $.02

just like 6 speed f-bodies, yes they are more desirable.
muscle cars are more muscle car with a manual.
your gonna hear alot of whining now from the auto group
who says the auto makes it faster and more consistant, blah blah blah,
but that doesnt change the way the market looks at the car.

My car is an auto...
And that said, yes the M6 is much more desireable, at least in the used market and with the people looking to buy these types of cars. When theywere new you had alot of autos becasue you had older people buying them looking for a cruiser, and I believe at times the M6 availability was an issue too...the A4's were just easier to find.
I bought the auto because at the time the car and condition was more important to me than the transmission...I could have went either way on it. After owning the car for 4 years, I really wish that I had stumbled onto the M6 and not the auto.
Now,whenever I look at the classified for these and see one, I'm like meh, an auto.
