Have a friend pull on the trunk while u click it. Well since you
Have the fob you could do it all yourself.

My trans am does it from time to time and it's worked so far.

When I say pull I mean pull up as if you are opening it. Sorry if I didn't make that clear. I could just see someoe pulling on the trunk straight back haha!

Look under the headrest of the rear passenger seat. There is a little yellow tab you can pull that should release it.

your trunk release actuator cable is broken..... you have top buy an actuator to get the cable..... there is a vin break on the design.... go to a dealer to buy a new one.... there is a emergency release cable for it in the back seat until you get a new one

ok so next part of the question my key FOB doesn't work had it open a couple times with the emergency release behind the head rest. my question is if the manual release cable behind the head rest broke to anyone know a third way to get it open. just got my new cable to replace the broken one but now the head rest release doesn't work, anyone know another way????

i had this same exact problem... wouldnt open with my fob but i could use the manual release under passenger rear headrest... how i fixed mine was i took off the carpet on under the trunk lid so you can see the small cable that actuates the release mechanism. indeed it was broke so i cut up and bent a coat hanger to fit instead of buying a whole new assembly. been working fine ever since.
