N/A mods for ls1 gto
How much RWHP can i actually get on an N/A setup, looking for a setup from someone whos got high numbers from their mods and what mods would be needed to get those numbers. Ive looked at SNL's V4 cam but not sure on best heads to go with them, but if anyone else has a better setup then thats what im wanting.

350whp boltons only
375whp cam only
400RWP can be had with headers and a large cam...... or with headers, medium cam and LS2 heads.....
450-475rwp is about the most you can get safely and reliably from a 5.7 and thats only if you get aftermarket heads, possibly a FAST manifold and a very large cam choesen by a custom grinder to fit your setup as a whole...... not recommended as a DD
i drove my 400whp 5.7 as my DD for 40k miles with no problems..... now that im at 530whp with a blower im looking for a new DD lol

u can always pic up a set of used 243 heads or l92 heads and send them to AI (advanced induction) to have them ported and polished they do great work and many many guys on here will stand up for them.. thats my plan with my ls2 goat.. pic up a spare set and send them out, then cam it at the same time

maybe im being a touch conservative on my numbers....
when i was N/A i made 400whp with LT's, 243's and a 224/228 cam
but i would love to see the mod list for a stock short block N/A LS1 that makes 670rwhp cause i dont belive it for 1 second

yea those are some good setups, right now im trying to figure out why i run door to door with ta's that are 500 lbs lighter with full bolt ons. I would say its the driver but we do 60 rolls so its more car then driver, all i have is CAI and i beat the new SS camaros and 5.0. What gives haha

I've got 418rwhp with stock 243 heads, kooks 1 3/4" headers, catted mids, UD pulley, fast 92 intake, 92mm throttle body, and a medium cam on an LS1 through stock catback.
It's really about how much money you are willing to sink into it. Heads and cam plus install and tune can get very expensive. The number of mod possibilities for LS engines are almost limitless.

I'm gonna go with NasbaGoat... On an LS1 (stock cubes) you're looking at 450-470 whp +/-
-Svede OTRCAI
-FAST 102 Intake/TB
-Trickflow, AFR, DART, heads (maybe milled for a little extra compression)
-Good Spec'd cam for your setup
-LT's, Exhaust
-UDP
-Tune
Dyno numbers only mean so much though. Your 450 might be someone else's 500, to someone else's 400. They're just a tuning tool, unless you're just wanting to build it to brag about the dyno sheet.

I dd my 04 goat and I have ported and polished 243 heads that are milled 0.028", fast 90mm intake ported, Nick Williams 90mm throttle body, and Torque V2 cam. Put down 440rwhp, and gets 25mpg ish at 75-80 mph on highway with 3.91's.

I was told that to get near 500 rwhp id spend almost 7k, im looking to either CNC some 243 heads or 5.3 on the 2.5 setup. As far as cam i want whatever is the biggest i can go with that will clear the heads, ive also been told its hard to beat stock rods. I have headers just not installed yet, so with a heads, cam, headers,CAI and full exhaust what would i be looking at RWHP. And from what ive been told my engine must be one of the factory freaks that rarely come out.
