Very very similar, but I like the way this aftermarket hood looks though it's similar to what was pictured in that magazine.
Perhaps it's because the angles and quality of the photos are better?

that hood is pretty good, though not for me IMO. i love the fact that its like the old GTO Judge style, but it has to be smoother. the point on the front of the hood just doesn't seem to flow.
if the hood was lower and closer to the nose, and the nose a bit raised so the hood could continue the raised section, it would be great.
if that doesn't make sense to u, take a look at some older GTO's. the point/start begins on the nose of the car, not the hood. ie:

Also, what kind of rear axle is that!?

The magazines made too big a fuss over no "pontiac" script on the car - It's got a ton of Arrowheads on it - front, rear, and on each wheel (even the steering wheel), for a total of 7. With 7 Pontiac badges, I see no need for "Pontiac" script. Nearly everyone knows that the red arrowhead is the Pontiac logo - add to that the "GTO" badging, and no one is going to fail to realize that this is a Pontiac.

Being a mule, they likely saw no need to badge it any different than a Monaro to avoid attention.

The scoops would look better closer to the front hood edge.
About that movie in the first post, they were shooting the film this week. My buddy got his 94 Firehawk in as "an extra" in a car show scene.
