Yeah I've raced one very impressive. I almost had the parachute put away when he crossed the finish line. Perhaps not fair but it feels good to be modded and faster. LOL....
I say you lose but not by that much given two decent drivers. But I say you add a little power. Port your exhaust manifold and run test tubes to remove your cats. Should be good enough to put you in the ballpark.

You have nowhere near 370 at the wheels, not with your mods.
Be lucky if you hit 350, so he not only has a good 20 or so hp at the wheels advantage but also lighter to boot by a few hundro.
Unless he can't drive, he will spank you.
Now throw on some headers and some light weight reduction and you will probably hang with him. Gonna need to trap in the low teens to take him, don't see that happening with a CAI/catback/semi-tuned GTO.

Saw one last night on the dyno, M6 car bone stock except for a Roush catback-392/381 at the tires on the first pull and 394/382 the second pull, untuned. For motors being rated at 412 at the crank these things are beasts! They are really making about 440-450 crank horsepower.

^ very true. I'll talk to her next time I see her.
Next mods are another tune, so I know what everything is set up to and it's not so much of a mystery and hopefully a cam. 228r any good?

How is that? A manual LS2, on average hits 350 to the wheels.
In reality, M6s are in the 330s-340s and 370s are usually for the header+ crowd, not a K&N and tune.
But I digress, not going to continue arguing thought up numbers seeing as how you've never been on a dyno. And dyno numbers mean squat...one dyno can read 380 and another dyno can read 340 on the same day, same car.

Also, I agree a GTO is not at 350. Maybe with a dyno tune and a good CAI, not the K&N. A Vararam or a Svede could probably get you close to those numbers.
No, my recommendation would be to buy a set of LS3 heads and intake manifold and install them on your car first. Then combine that with headers, cam, and a tune(In this order if you can't afford all at once) and you'll be at about 450rwhp, which is plenty to murder him. Hell, the heads and intake should be enough to kill him.

I had an 06 Mustang GT with minor boltons and 4.10 gears. I raced an 06 GTO with I believe just a tune and we were almost side by side the entire track. His times overall were usually a hundreths or so faster than mine.

The best thing to do is just MYOB. If they want to race, and you're feeling up to it, go for it.
Personally, I'm building a turbo setup for mine, so I don't have to worry.

As I said, his times were usually slightly faster than mine. He was running low 13s and I was running low to mid 13s. The track is not the fastest. The D/A, especially in the summer is over 3000'. Also, I believe my car may be pulling timing up top. My E.Ts should have been low 13s to high 12s.
