GCONNOYER i know at my power level i shouldnt have broke that ****. it didnt wheel hop i know what that feels like it just hooked and broke i didnt make it past the tree. also the shaft was a clean break and it broke at a downward angle so that leads me to the carrier bearing bound up which caused it to break. i broke where the main shaft goes smooth and starts to spline for the output

No those are a stiff sidewall road racing tire.

Here's the wheels you want

Might want to try and find something a bit more narrow if you're on stock springs or dont have drag bags.

Here's what it looks like

Just get some Mazda MPV Airlift drag bags and you should be good to go with those wheels/tires. One thing to be aware of is "lane walk". It's more like chit your pants sometimes if you get it. The back end will start feeling like it's coming out at the fast end. Definitely will wake you up. Bias plies for the front will help a lot. They don't recommend running bias and radial on the car at the same time. Some have gotten the spare tire wheel and some skinny bias front runners or you can do matching "Stars" like Greg did. That will also give less weight and rolling resistance and can help a lot too.

I also recommend replacing the shitty stock rear springs regardless of whether you track it or not. It would have been my first mod had I known how much body roll it corrected. I have Pedders 0-Drops and the airlift bags...I also have a very nice writeup on the install at ls1gto.com.

I have BMR Drag bags and Pedders 5/16 Drag Springs. I would have just settled with the drag bags, but my stock springs were so worn out and worthless I was getting camber wear on my rear tires.

Definitely get a bias setup on all 4 corners.
ALOT of people run the factory spare wheels (which is perfectly fine) and actually run the spare tire.

I wanted to whole setup so I went ahead and bought it all off Jegs. Probably totaled $1200ish brand new.

I run Hoosiers 17 drag radial and they hook. They hook well enough I blew through a monster stage 3.5 my first run. No wheel hop though. You don't need a bias ply tire if you get the right radial.
