Default New goat owner!

I sold my '00 camaro SS m6 last saturday and bought my first GTO today! man I must say this is a whole different class of car. It has everything the camaro did not! of course the SS has its advantages as well. Anyway...

Got a Black '04 with red leather and its an automatic. Probably the least popular of all the goats... the year and transmission that is, but I couldn't afford a 2005! its insane the price difference in just one year!
It's completely bone stock which is what I was wanting! and its EXTREMELY clean! especially for the mileage which happens to be 97k.
I bought it from the original owner which did took the car to the dealership to have all of the services done according to the owners manual. the 3k, 8k, 20k, etc. All the recommended services GM has and he had the receipts to back it up.

I paid $10,200. I think it was a pretty good deal, especially for the fact that every other GTO I went to look at was ragged the **** out and they were asking 10 and 11000! OH and whats the deal with every GTO I've seen having black spray painted stock wheels!?! I've got news.. that **** does NOT look good! thank god mine are silver.

Congrats! Looks nice man. I had to sell my T/A and Chevelle unfortunately to get my GTO but its been my dream car since I first saw the Monaro. I paid just under $17,000 for mine a few months ago.

Thanks guys! Off subject.. but my first mod on this thing is going to be a CAI. What brand makes the most power? I can't find a comparison between different ones, and I'm sure they're all very close.. but I wanna get the most HP since I'm spending a chunk of money on one

Looks clean for the mileage. Black/red is the best combo. I would say the svede intake is prob the best for the 04.

Nice car man. Very clean. Best CAI has to be Svede. They're more expensive than the rest but they're worth it. Only reason I didn't upgrade my k&n to one is because I'm practically making my own intake. Anyways...they look fantastic. Symmetry matters to me so they're much more appealing than a big box put off to one side. Svede is the way to go. No long tube with bends in it...just the filter and a short straight tube directly into your MAF/tb. There's nothing wrong with the '04s. I prefer the more clean work and the ls1 engine. After some modding the 50hp and 18ci becomes negligible. Congrats man. And welcome. I always thought the black on red was a fantastic combo!

Congrats man, I too am new to the GTO scene.

Just bought an 06 m6 ls2 and i must say one of the smoothest rides when im not on it and when i do its amazing

Nice car man

I have a vararam intake right where the nostrils are ( only thing keeping the air out of the nostrils is the little plastic pieces which snap in

To me it looks nice but i havent took it to the dyno yet and compared it with the pieces in and out

A great car that you will surely enjoy. Also a good time to get into the model because of the availability of used mods. This site and ls1gto classified have lots of gently use performance parts for sale that will end up saving you over new parts. Only complaint was that parts were so expensive but it is a bit cheaper now with the used parts that are available
