Driveshaft swap
The center suppoort driveshaft bearing went out on my 05 m6, the dealer said they can't get the bearing alone and the new driveshaft (2 piece) would cost $1500. Should I switch to a 1 piece aluminum or stick with the 2 piece?

A local had it. He had bought it from another local guy, who had it built and was running 9's with it. I know locally, we have a drivetrain shop that will build you a custom shaft somewhere in the $300 range, but you still have to buy the piece to attach it. If I hadn't picked up the DS from a local member, I was just going to have on built. I'm not sure how much a shaft cost to ship (the one I just got literally feels like it's only 15lbs), but if you can't find a local shop, I coul dask the shop down here to build one, and I could ship it to you? Just throwing that out there, but do a google search for local driveline/drivetrain shops

it all depends on what you do with the car. just drive it and the occasional romping on it or do you race it. some things to watch for are radius rod bushings, strut mounts, fuel rail covers they cut your fuel lines, and im sure there are some other things. oh rear spings sag

How did you know the drive shaft was bad? Ive got a vibration in 6th gear only at 60-75mph. I'm thinking its my DS. Saw the 550hp drive shaft at the DSS. Thinking of getting the one piece
