Default 04 cam and bolton install

Well, FINALLY got the cam installed! Car sounds, different than i thought it would, but i like it. Its currently untuned, will be getting tuned tomorrow! All in all the install wasnt to bad, but i do have a decent oil leak somewere, and its going to have to go up on the lift again. Also, i believe i have to short of pushrods...... Valve train is real noisy, im going to have my tuner look at it tomorrow to confirm.

The install:

246/240 .598/.608 113lsa
25%UDP
Trunion upgrades
Comp magnum pushrods
Lunati dual spring kit (Tools steel retainers)
Hinson Poly mounts
SLP oil pump
HD ls2 chain

Drivabality untuned is WAY better than i thought it was going to be, surging at idle, cruises fine, dosnt die at lights etc....

What do you think, camera sucks as you can see

I know it lol. But here is my thought. Im 95% sure the cam i installed had a smaller base cirscle. I can hear my upper valve train clattering pretty good. Meaning i need longer pushrods. If thats true, it would tame the cam significantly wouldnt it?

That's an odd spec cam especially with stock heads. What are you planning on doing with the car? Mostly high RPM drag racing?

Ya its a little different specs. BUT, i actually gained a mpg, there is NO bucking with the cruise on, and the car pulls SO hard over 3,000 rpm. I dont do alot of high rpm drag racing, but when i do race its high rpm lol. im very happy with my choice. Obviously i have nothing to compare it to, but im happy now and thats what matters lol. Also just FYI, i plan on ported 243`s and some 4:11`s very soon. SHould makle it even better!

I think 4.11s are overkill especially if you keep building up the motor. Traction is always an issue with these cars due to the limited tire sizes. 1st gear will be useless and you'll be spending a lot of time shifting. I have 3.91s and they're on the edge of being too much on my H/C car. Take your car to the track and log some trap speeds to see how your car really stacks up.
