Default OMG, TRUNK WONT OPEN. Keys locked in.

I feel like an idiot. Ive owned this car for a week and managed to do this.

I forgot to put something in the trunk popped trunk with key put it in and organized it and somehow left the key inside and closed the lid.

I have found the manual trunk release and that **** doesnt have the "yellow ring" attached to it just a wire. So i got some vice grips and pulled lightly, then eventually with all my strength and nothing!

I got the car open by popping the lock from the outside, i opened the door, popped hood(because of loud *** alarm) and disconnected the battery.

Even if i connect the battery trunk wont pop with the button (as a security feature i suppose)

is there a fuse i can pull or anything i can do to disable the alarm so i can use the trunk popper in the glove box.

any input would be great. I really think im fucked! an i get a new key made at the dealer and have it programmed, i guess ill have to wait till tomorrow =(

No There is a gas tank behind them

OP, have you tried pressing the button in the glove box while a buddy pulls up on the trunk? My trunk won't open unless someone pulls on the trunk while I press the button.

The glove box button should do it, it's amazing how many ways there are to open the trunk on these cars.

I know you say you pulled very hard on the cable but try this, I hope it works for you it did for me, have someone push down on the trunk as you pull the cable and when you pull you should feel it move a lil extra then tell the person pushing to pull up on the trunk.

The OP has not logged in since he made this post. Maybe he locked himself in the trunk too.

Haha, Talk about a PITA

So what ended up happening was the manual trunk release was broken, so that ended up ruining a couple of my days. Thank god for my spare car. I took it to the dealer where one of my brothers friends works(which i didnt know till i walked in). I explained to him what happened and he told me to just tow it in and hell figure something out. Long story short the tech followed the wiring diagram hooked up an external power source to the trunk release pressed the button and viola!

I felt like an idiot after all was said and done. But thank god they got it to work. Now ill be getting that manual release fixed before too long.

I was afraid of something along these lines happening, too. So I bit the bullet, paid the money, and got me an extra key.
Did these cars come with 2 keys from the factory? It's amazing how many people only have 1.

The ignition key is the door key, the smaller GM key is for the glove box FYI.
