You cant fit a 30" tire.
You don't have enough power and a 30" tire will slow you waaaay down.
-for one, you'll dead hook everytime and bog.
-also, you'll essentially be raising the gear ratio in an already heavy and undergeared car.
You wont be able to tuck that wheel enough to run a 30" tire
You cant get prostars in that size/backspace.

Hope this helps.

Stick with a 26x9-10" tire.

Your post is confusing. Holeshot makes a 15 x 9 with a 6 7/8 inch backspace that will fit the GTO with spacers. I have a complete set with skinnies for the front and the 15 x 9's on the rear. If the slicks are 26 x 9 they should fit perfect. I have had up to 10 inch wide Hoosier 26 inch tires on the car. If they are 30 by 9, aside from the performance issues mentioned, I am thinking they will hit the top of the fender well when the car squats on launch.

iam going to just have to buy someones used drag setup. Cause all this talk about back spacing an tire size stuff is blowing me out the water. Iam not use to a car where you have to worry about the fender hitting the tire an stuff. Iam use to just reg. tire sizes like 315/35/20.. I like that style rim above an i've used hossiers before. I'll just have to post in the for sale section wtb drag setup.

Its really not complicated.

A little reasearch (or just copying everyone elses setup) will work out. Plenty of threads about it.

As far as tire size, normally bias plys are measured the old way and radials the new way.

A simple calculator can tell you what the difference between a 275 vs a 10" tire is.

I know i need to do my research i been going off of other peoples set ups, but that is a perfect set up what you have. I will go with a 15x9 wheel and tire 26x9,but i dont want to set up with spacers, what spacing can I use without them?

That is a 15 x 9 with 10.0 by 28 Hoosiers. BS is 6 7/8 had to use the spacers before I tubbed it. Problem with a 15 by 9 and 6 7/8 BS is it will rub the inner fender.

You might need to do a little massaging of the rear brake line with a rubber mallet and banjo bolt grinding to run the 15s

Just so you know like scphilli said....I know my 15" crager ss's are only 12 3/4" diameter inside...when I went with my 4 link and 9" rear I had to grind the outer lip on the 10" brake drums for the wheel to slide over them.
