Suggestions for an aggressive sounding cam
I have seen where people are making pretty good power off of just a cam, OTRCAI, and exhaust.
I had another GTO pull up next to me the other day and it made me jealous. The cam just made that thing sound mean as hell.
I want a cam that just sounds nasty and lopes and maybe even shakes the car around at idle. Im guessing I will be giving up some power over other cams. I am willing to give up a little power just to sound like that old classic street rod.
Don't get me wrong, I still want to make decent power. If I could make over 400-420 to the wheels with just exhaust, a mean cam, and a CAI I would totally be happy with my manual car.
I sent an email to thunder racing and got a response asking for more details but have not heard sense my reply.
Any suggestions?

I wish you luck, ive been looking for the same thing but i end up with more and more supporting mods than i can afford lol
example: i love TSP's 228R .588/.588 cam 112 LSA.. but from what im finding id need headers and (for me being an automatic) a 3000-3200 stall..
guess it kinda depends how much u plan on spending...

I don't quite follow. I mean you can lower the idle and kind of help with the lope but I am not seeing how else to tune for lope.
When I was talking about exhaust I was including the addition of headers and high flow cats to add to my Corsa Catback system.

^ he's right. I can tune in a poor idle and get the car shaking all over the place. I tuned it to run as best as it could. Honestly modding your car for power will give you all the aggression you need.

You should get LTs first, before your add a cam. Next, remember that any cam swap must include upgrading your valvetrain; springs, pushrods, etc. Don't skimp on this step or your may be paying to repair damage you could have avoided. Next, find a cam that is right for how you drive your Goat. I can recommend 30 cams that will shake the windows out of houses 30 yards away but will cause your GTO to drive like crap. Picking a cam based on sound is right down there with picking a cam by internet vote, both terrible ideas. Call some reputable vendors and tell them what you are looking for. The reason they may ask you allot of questions is because they are trying to do it right, that is find the cam that is right for you.

I have had at least 3 of Ed Curtis's Cams (FTI) in my mustang with the different setups. I sent him an email tonight to see what he thinks or suggests. I kind of forgot that he wasn't limited to ford.

this video seems to be working. Here is a short clip of my cam/exhaust I am happy with the performance and sound. I ended up going with an FTI Cam.
