Easy basic stuff:
-Tow brace
-Spare tire and tools
-Skid plate
-Gas tank brace
-Wing delete
-Rear speakers and subs/amp delete
-Remove back seats (worth 40+lbs)
-The usual drive with 1/4 tank and clean out all the fast food bags, diet, get a skinner girlfriend or leave her at home.

More expensive/difficult stuff:
-Lighter forged wheels and tires
-Carbon driveshaft
-Lighter clutch/flywheel
-Lighter exhaust
-Catless longtubes
-Racing seats (worth about 100lbs alone!)
-Coilovers
-Aftermarket swaybars
-Glass/CF parts (hood, trunk, fenders)
-Lightweight Battery/Battery Relocate

Stupid expensive/not DD friendly things:
-Tube frame front end
-Custom carbon fiber parts (like doors/roof)
-Polycarbonate windows
-Gut interior
-Buy Miata, shove LS2 in it, be happy.

I'm at 3500ish with basic weight reduction and lighter aftermarket go fast parts. That's lighter than a mustang and only about 200lbs away from a ZR1.

I changed all my stock wheels to welds and picked up 1 tenth each wheel is 50lbs compared to 22lbs of a new weld or race star.

I'm just thinking I could lose 150 more lbs if I chucked the rear seats and put in some fixed buckets. Honestly I thought about doing something like the Boss302 has with a cross brace, also probably add a roll bar right behind the buckets about head height to stiffer the chassis and to be able to mount my GoPro and a harness:

Under the spare tire well. From the bottom of the car looking up, it is covered by the plastic tray immediately forward of the rear diffuser.

I'm shooting for -3,000 lbs, 2,700 lbs would make me happy as hell, but it has been in the garage torn apart for almost a year now...I decided to tub, full cage and tube chassis
