Default ?? Has anyone investigated a Monaro front bumper

Hi Gang,

First time post. I have a question. Has anyone investigated swapping out the GTO front bumper cover for the Monaro front bumper cover and grill trim?

Please no flames. I just like the cleaner simpler lines of the original design.

If so any idea on cost and possible suppliers, besides blindy contacting a Holden dealer in Oz?

TIA
Steve D.

Well, it's not the same thing, but I'm researching getting all the HSV GTO bits and importing them for installation when I get a US GTO. With the exchange rates and shipping, body parts from Australia for this car are not cheap.

If you've got the cash to spend, it's probably best to contact Holden dealers directly to get the parts. Try getting referrals from www.ls1.com.au

Will you also replace the GTO emblems with Monaro emblems?

I'll be retaining all Pontiac and GTO badging on mine if I go with the HSV body it. Including moving the arrowhead from the rear decklid to the center of the HSV fascia between the grilles, and putting arrowhead center caps on the HSV 18" wheels.

We compared several photos when the GTO was released, it appears that the front bumper covers are interchangeable. Looks like the fenders, hood, and headlights are the same between both cars.

Exactly right.

The Monaro fascia would have to be modified to retain the US spec side indicators. The driving lights are different as well.

I have contacts over in Australia and can get the parts shipped over no problem. I ship them parts all the time. If we got a few things together we could get the shipping costs down.

Could you get pricing for the parts in question. I wonder if there is someone down under who want to trade??
