side mirror housing removal

Default side mirror housing removal

i just got a GTO and the spring came out of the passenger mirror because it was dislodged, i want to put it back in but cant figure out how to get the housing off of the mount is there anyway to do this? i heard about pulling up on it but it seems like its on there good.

I am at a loss, what spring? Maybe there is more parts than they show in the parts listing.

There's a tension spring with a white plastic piece so it doesn't get floppy. If you fold the mirror a little bit you can barely see it. I already have the mirror off the car I just need to get the housing for the glass off the mounting section for the car.
