Livernois has always been expensive, but they do good work. They wanted to charge me $900 for a tune alone lol

Yeeeaah. I was thinking why not buy the partd yourself and have them install? Considering the budget doesn't SEEM to be much of an issue. Damn. Im just thinking of how nasty i could make my GTO for just under 10K. In my garage.

Good luck man, I'm sure you'll be pleased with the results.

Doing the work myself wouldn't be an issue its having the time to do it. Hell it took me 3 months to get a day off whereI had enough time to take the car up there

That's understandable. My last job I could go 45 days without a single day off. Literally working so much all I had time for was to eat a little, go to bed for 4-6 horus and go back in. After 2 years of absolute hell, losing weight, poor health, I left that place.

Also, One BIG thing that our comments don't account for is that now you will have the insurance of them doing the install. If something happened and you bought the parts and installed them.. your'e pretty much *** out. At least you will be able to take it up there and they will have liability on their shoulders.

Turns out the vibration I had that I couldn't figure out was a junk carrier bearing. So waiting on a one piece drive shaft now.

in for an itemized list and numbers pics and vids

figure 400 for the cam, 3000 for heads if they are real good ones, 1000 for the clutch ,springs pushrods rockers 800.

i still dont see why its so much . a tune should be in the 700 range .headers are another 1200-1500 with x pipe.

I don't remember the whole list offhand, but some of the things that I recall that are not listed are cai, oil pump, complete valve train, flywheel, timing chain, and a bunch of odds and ends that adds up. I think the labor was $2500 including the dynotime

Your carrier was basically not even attached to the driveshaft anymore, I've never seen one that bad before lol.

What's terrible about that is I took it to the dealer since its under warranty and took there guy for a ride, it would have a little vibration in 1st gear at half throttle. They looked at it for 10 min and said they didn't know what it was

Apparently the driveshaft they ordered must have been on that missing Malaysia airlines jet. Still waiting

Why does everyone keep saying ouch at the price?

Good Catback 1000
Headers 1000-1500
Good clutch and goodies is 1000 easily
Heads lets just say 1000 since we dont know which ones(potentially a lot more)
Cam and valvetrain 500
Tuning 500+

So we are at 5000-5500 some of that is probably conservative, missing some items, and that is with no labor or tax.

OK, you are still $4,000 short of his quote...
What he is paying for is the name LIVERNOIS and hopefully quality work and customer service.
For $10 grand you could have much more, but, he also doesn't have the time to do it himself or find somewhere else to take it. It's his money and decision, if it makes him happy, good deal and happy motoring!

OP- Stay on them about that Driveshaft, mine took about a week total, from ordering it to install complete.
