Default cam & heads

hello, I'm new to the forum, i have done a good bit of searching but still is unclear on the topic. I have a 04 M6 GTO an I'm looking to do a head and cam swap. Being a little economical right now and found some ported 241's for 200$ was wondering if I'd be able to use the ported 241s with a MS4 cam or the v3 Torquer I want a good cam but i also DD my goat, not looking to gain 700+ horses just want to get 450RW eventually any advice would be appreciated.

For that kind of money I'd question the quality of the work and components of those heads. You're going to need some beefy valvetrain to control the cams you have chosen.

Those cams are not the best for DDing, especially if you're on the stock gears. 3.91s maybe and a good tune maybe you can drive those fairly easy but I would recommend something smaller. Also you'll need injectors along with the usual valvetrain upgrades so this won't be cheap.

From personal experience I can say you will get use to driving with a cam like the ones listed. What you won't get used to is getting terrible gas mileage.

As far as those heads, you get what you pay for

maybe look into getting a set of 243s and working them and get a cam designed for your setup.

the ported 241 heads was used lightly, but i understand. I've also have been looking at the texas speed cam & head package would the stage 2.5 ported 5.3 heads be a good add? All I have been reading about is the bump in compression

Check out this heads and cam car we did a little bit back. Car made good power and turned out really nice. I do a lot of work with the GTO community and would love to work with you. We use Bullet Racing camshafts and only do full custom grinds. No shelf cams here and we pair them with some of the other best components you can buy like our HINSON C7-R timing chains for example. Shoot me an email and we will get you fixed up. Click the link below and read over the thread I put together.

We have an excellent cam head header combo that will offer you great power and drive ability.
Our Stage 3 head's with our LS Stage II camshaft and the proper header will net you close to or at what your looking for.
