I know this section is a bit dead these days but I didn't see one of these in the search so I figured what the hell.

Gave her a bath and polished the wheels

Looks good!
I put mine in the shop to get a new power steering pump and change the tune to open loop, fix the crack in the turbo mount and get some hub centering rings put on to smooth the ride out.

I bought it. 2006 stock 49K miles.
5 years after crashing my much loved, cammed & bolt-on Z28.
I've mellowed. A4, not M6. No mods planned (except maybe stereo/bluetooth)

My first post here in 5 years!

Well I was gonna make a lot more progress but some bad storms rolled through and knocked the power out for about 12 hrs so this was all I got finished. The airbag badge was missing when I bought it so I finally found a decent one on eBay that wasn't 40 dollars. It's not perfect but neither is the rest if the interior so it's something.

Gonna work on my way headunit next, it's a bit larger than the bezel so it needs some trimming to set flush.

Bought a set of black with red cetner bumper and trunk.blems when I first got the car and it didn't take long for them to fade. Rather than buy something else I just got some red vinyl inserts . Pretty.happy with the outcome.

Those are BRIGHT! I don't ever remember them being that red, they really stand out on that black.

Yeah I really like how they pop. The originals did too but they faded so fast. I don't think I even have a pic.

On a different note got my xair intake on total PITA btw but it looks nice now that it's done. Still gotta trim the shroud and I'll snap some new pics

LOOKS SHARP! even I have to admit I have started to like the 6th gens more and more. Maybe one day. How do you like it compared to the GTO?

It is a world of difference---magnetic ride suspension, in Tour mode is like a Cadillac and track mode it's laser sharp... The motor is so smooth and responsive, my GTO makes about 800 crank HP the ZL1 makes 650 and feels like it is faster than the goat. All the new technology stuff is amazing, I remember comparing my '04 GTO to a '71 Buick Grand Sport I had stock vs stock and they were night and day different, these new ZL1's are in the same ballpark compared to GTO's. Mine is a 6 speed manual and can be driven in 6th gear @ 40 mph without lugging... I am really impressed with it after just 275 miles on the odometer. Power everywhere, clutch is super light feeling with smooth engagement, steering feel is just right. I am averaging about 19 mpg with mixed hwy/city driving with some spirited runs through the gears. You don't see many of them either and they don't really look like the other Camaros except the general shape of the body.

6th gear at 40 is damn near impossible in the goat, it doesnt really like 5th gear at 45. Congrats I didnt realize it was a zl1 at first, Im not sure if I went for one if id go that far. I like to tinker to much and I feel like a topshelf performance car wouldnt leave a lot left to mess with haha.

looks im back to resetting the stereo again....thought it would just "hang out" since the droid double dins are a bit over sized its a tight squeeze t use the mounting cage oh well always something. Maybe I should just work on the other car for a change

Too many 6th gens owners acting like Charger owners did when it first came out.

PAC 650 springs and Ti retainers
Hollow valve upgrade
Manton custom length Pushrods ( 3/8 x .095 wall)

234/248 .601 .606 116+4 Custom Cam
MMS ported LSA oil pump
Johnson .058 limited travel lifters with AOL (Axel wheel dedicated oiling)
MSD Atomic Airforce Intake Manifold for LS7 103 mm (also ported by Tony)

to sit on my existing ERL LS2 427 block

Didn't say all ... just too many. Too many on the road, too many models and too many owners never going to mod them ... cause its really really fast. Like I said "Charger Syndrome". Makes it a lot harder to find the true enthusiast. With the goat it was much easier.
