Another which cam for n/a gto build
2004 GTO
Mods
Full suspension I've built the suspension before any engine mods
Headers
Slp
No cats
Engine has 100k on it.
Engine will be pulled and will install
New rings
New bearings , cam bestings rod bearings ect
Basically a engine freshen up
Stock 241 heads will be ported and new valves. Thinking of texas speed
New lifters, rockers, springs ect. I want this thing as close to new as possible.
Car is NOT a DD, it's also not a full time drag car. I've owned it 4 years and have put just over 7k miles.
Most post about cams I see dead end with a it's a DD or just a kid wishing.
I'm thinking of a 228/232 or possibly bigger? Im not sure how big I can go but I dont want something I have to adjust every 1,000 miles.
Power wise I'd like most of it in the top as I do drag race. I dont do any autocross stuff.
I thought of a Ms4 but reading not sure how it would work with aftermarket heads down the road. Plus it seems really close to hitting a piston.
Last thing is sound. I want a great sound that puts a smile on my face just listening to its old school growl.
Lastly I do my own tuning with hp tuners, I've only been tuning my stockish car with good results. I will have help to get a good start to my tune.

I installed the Summit Racing Trick Flow 550HP top end kit. You don't need to do this, but the cam it uses is 238/242 duration, .595/.595 lift. With the head upgrade and cam changed, I now rear wheel dyno at 452hp, which translates to about 550 crank hp. I treat it as a normal daily driver, with a drag racing and road coarse racing on some weekends. Its a NA motor. It has a little bit of a rough idle, but with some tuning and new performance injectors, it idles perfectly and makes great power.
