Default 3700lbs?!!?!

Is it true that the 04 GTO's weigh 3700 pounds. Im sure it does, because everytime i floor it, it dont even feel like im moving. Just wondering where all the weight is coming from.

a rattle free interior ? (heavier comfy seats, more noise insulation)

heavier more reliable window motors ?

heavier brake rotors that don't warp easily ?

non plastic body panels ?

thanks..

oh and IRS .

The GTO is heavier. But it's a better built car. It's quiet, comfortable and virtually noiseless. Also I wouldn't be surprised if the LS1 in the GTO is tuned to operate in a slightly different powerband. The GTO has much smoother acceleration. It doesn't feel like it makes as much low end power as the Trans-AM. But I wouldn't be surprised if it's got more up top. I've only drive a GTO to about 80MPH so I'm not sure.

But it's a different feel. It's a sports coupe, not a sports car with seats stuffed into the back for insurance pupposes.

Default Why...

My understanding is that many of the suspension pieces (control arms ect.) are cast iron.
