Default Need serious help with header install

Hey,

I have the whole passengers side done. For the life of me I can't wedge the headers in on the drivers side, the primaries are hitting the heads.

I need help some suggestions or help pretty quick.

Thanks,

I live in northern NJ if you could assist.

Exotic performance plus dropped the k frame down a few inches on my gto with stainlessworks headers to do the install. There are pictures on their site under the project cars section. Hope this helps.

Haven't done Kooks, but as mentioned, I dropped the rack for my Stainless Works headers. Still a tight fit, you just gotta move the header around to get it in.
Having a trans jack helps to hold the rack while you losen it up and move it out.

Hey,

I had to jack the motor up after unbolting the drivers side. Then the sucker went in. Thanks for the help.

Guys, We provide a detailed install sheet with the headers. You'll find it in gasket box. Raising the engine on the driver's side only is a must. Please read the instructions thorougly. Thanks. Nick "Kook's Headers"

I did not get ANY instructions with my headers nick.

I got the 2 head gaskets, 2 flange gaskets, all the bolts, nuts, and washers. I had 02 extensions with it and I got a booklet on Kooks products and 4 stickers but no instructions. I figured that it was a straightforward install and required no "special" instructions.

Also is this how the additional clearance to the steering rack is accomplished . Are the headers pushed furthur out away from the rack which gives the need to raise the motor due to angle of the bends in the tubing?

The headers sweep in more and avoid the rack alot better than some others do. I can stick my hand between the rack and the headers and not touch either. It is exactly what I had hoped for.

Pictures to come later today.
