Default A4 GTO vs. 96-98 Mustang GT ?

Who do you think would win?
Not that I'd ever engage in a friendly little stoplight romp on public streets, but it might have happened somewhere

Verdict -- I'm not really sure he was racing, he fell back quite fast.

no, not '96-'98s....they suck! need the '99+ PI heads and intake then they aren't too bad, w/gears and full exhaust they can run deep into the 13s. '96-'98 COBRAs aren't too shabby tho!

Seriously?? Short of a heart transplant or a hechuva alot of boost, he aint got a chance against you! Not to be overdramatic but of all the slow Mustangs Ford has built, that has to be one of the slowest. The 5sp cars will usually dyno somewhere around 170 to 180 at the wheels stock. Similar to a 94-95 5.0 but with a tick less torque.

Apparently this particular guy put his cash into appearance .. He had a new wing on the back, and a cowl hood.. Car sounded stock.. I seriously put about 4 cars on him by the top of 1st gear (I'm an A4). Let the tires squawk into 2nd gear and backed off it (45mph speed limit, after the shift I'm right on 60mph).

Not much. They need a helluva lot of gear and a sticky tire to do anything spectacular.

My father's regal gs beats those things

The cobras moved pretty well with 4.30's, 31 spinel (I think) and some slicks..but still nothing to write home about.

I think it'd be fun to take a STOCK 98 cobra throw some 4.88's in the rear and put a sticky tire behind it and see what she'll do. That DOHC 4.6 LOVES to rev.

Back on topic...Nice kill brains.

Speaking of 96to98 GT's. Did anyone see the latest bolt-on on Joe@Horsepower TV's Mustang(Nightmare). Previous best RWP on his 9lb. supercharged GT was 286. He added a smaller pulley(never said if it changed boost level) and an aftercooler. and went to 303(I believe). Not saying that Horsepower TV is the most reliable place for info, but I believe based on other results it fairly accurate.

Yeah, I think your right. Did you hear Joe say after the dyno that "it will make more horsepower when were out on the road where it can get some cool air" I think he was struggglinn! Especially when they dyno'd the LS1 SS a couple of episodes earlier and it based a 300 stock. I bet Chuck really had a good time with that one

96-98 Cobras were nowhere near being dogs.....my 97 in bone stock form down to the paper filter went 13.7@103. From what I hear our goats aren't much faster, and the goat has a bigger powerplant and weigh just about the same.
