Default Will a 275/40ZR17 fit?

I'm working on putting new wheels on my GTO and would like to run a 275/40ZR17 tire out back.

Currently the wheel and tire are offset to far out, and the tire rubs the wheel well lip.

My question is can this be made to fit without rolling or cutting the quarter lip?

Thanks

It may rub a little but they do fit if you need some guys have been rolling their fenders. but some have not had to roll them to fit. Sorry I just read the whole question. Mine fit with no modifacations are you using the stock rims?

I had custom rims made, based upon the manufacturer's recommendations, which are 9.5" wide and a 50 mm offset. I feel a 56mm offset 9" would work better, although not perfect, but i wanted feedback.

Thanks.

Let me know how it works out for you. All the tire makers seem to be a little bit different on the actual sizes. Which tires are you running?

Andy, the 275's will fit in the rear, I've run an 11.5" wide ET Street, as well as a 275 on a 17x9.5 F-car wheel. Don't try to get the 275's in the front though, you'll be quite upset/frustrated.

Definitely not trying to get a 275 up front. I'm sticking with a 245/45ZR17 and a 8" wheel up front and that has worked out fine. The rear is killing me. I am sending the wheels back to be remade, but I just want to make sure, because with what I have I do not see how it would ever fit without rolling the quarter all the way up . . .

Looks like if the wheel is cahnged to 9" wide and a ~56 mm offset there will be a lot more room.

FYI a stock F-Car 17" wheel is 9" wide.

That's what I always thought, but I've been "corrected" so many times I gave up.
