I used GM BuyPower to contact 3 dealers in the Houston, TX area offering $30k driveout and only one even bothered to counter with a drive-out price of about $32,500 or so and that was on an Auto they had in stock.

How much have you guys been having to pay for your '05 GTO 6 speeds? And just to clarify - 'drive-out price' includes taxes, title, license and any other fees. Thanks in advance!

Oh, and just to note - my 30th Ann. TA isn't going anywhere!

Yes, actually it is 6.25% anywhere in the state for automobiles unless there has been a recent change. And usually title and license amounts to $155 or so as I recall.

i paid 32,400 for my M6 05 GTO. Minues the 8k down payment which was in total 24,400 out the door. So you should get a price around 32,5xx. This is with all TTL.

$30k out the door after tax/title/license, etc on an M6 would be a steal, but I doubt you'll get them down that far. That'd be about $28k on the car which a good bit below invoice.

Thanks for the info - especially regarding your purchases. Hmmm... was sure hoping to be able to get there. With that being said - I might as well opt of an '06 then or maybe there will be a few leftover '05's toward the end of the year that I could get that deal on. I guess it will depend on whether or not I get anxious or not - Ha! Thanks again... Patrick

Go to the Costco or Sams Club website. They offer decent deals on cars (supposedly $100 over invoice, don't know if I believe that but it is cheaper than sticker). I used the price they advertised as leverage to my 05 M6. The asking price was 33.6 and the Costco price was 31.9. After my applying my mil discount, hot button, and gm card (with extra gm card coupon mailer) I had it down to 29000 then I threw on the down payment and got the 2.9% financing and ran to the door before they changed their mind.

So it is possible, but you need a wife that likes to hunt for the good deal. Mine did all of the shopping for me and gave me the ammo to work out the deal with the dealer. I am truly blessed. She also buys me tools and beer, so what else can a guy ask for?

I just noticed on the Pontiac website that GTO's aren't eligible for the Employee discount that goes until 1 AUG. I find it odd since they were eligible for the last go round and the hot button. I guess they must be selling well.

Thanks for the details 69Project - so there is a way - Ha! You definitely have a couple more discounts available to you there than I would though. Great job on your wife's part too - congrats!

We're not married - but been together 7 years and have a house and all - and she loves cars and racing and all that too! She doesn't mind buying beer or tools either and she understands the all-nighters in the garage, etc. But I definitely am the one that has to work out all the financial deals as she doesn't do #'s (blonde ). Ha!

you will have to be a member with Costco in order to find out what the price is through their auto program. When it comes to Costco and their services, i am all knowing.

30k even with TTL is a good deal.especially for an auto.



just make sure you get a descent APR if your financing.6.25 from GM is way to high.

It IS possible, but you got to have the right programs/rebates/discounts running at the right time. Invoice on these cars are something like $31k (only about $1,000 markup to sticker if I remember correctly). There are dealers here that would sell them to you at invoice (minus the holdback), but that still wouldn't get your $30k price tag. Work those incentives!

I just drove an '05 M6 today. After some BSing, the salesman offered to sell it to me at invoice ($31,867) He said that the only way to get it cheaper was to get GMS ($30,293). Add 6% sales tax (Michigan) and it'll cost about $32,110 plus tags. I'll have to check to see if you can add GM card savings on top of that. I think that you can't. (Anyone know for sure?) I have to talk to my cousin tomorrow and see if he can hook me up.

I also drove a WRX and an STi. The STi was very fast but nowhere near as smooth in ride or power delivery as the GTO. At the same price point, I'll take the Goat for a DD any day. The regular WRX didn't do much for me. No power under 4k rpm and the interior, ride, and NVH just weren't there. For $28k sticker price, I expect more. For closer to $22k out the door, I might consider it.

Thanks again to everyone for your input and advise as I appreciate it. I am a little surprised - but on the other hand - it is pretty impressive to be able to buy a 400hp LS2 powered '05 GTO for about $2,000 less than I paid for my '99 30th Ann. TA out the door - Ha! No regrets though!

One last thing though - if anyone reads this far...
What is the deal with the 18" rims? I have not come across one GTO with them yet. Were there issues with them or what? Thanks again!

I found one local dealer who would sell me a car at GMS pricing! I'm picking it up tomorrow. GMS ($30,293) minus $1000 GM card savings = a great deal.

I used GMBuyPower to contact 4 dealers this morning. 3 said that they would sell it to me at Supplier price and the 4th would do GMS. Keep looking. Someone will want to sell the car.

I paid 30,200 w/ GMS and a $500 GM discount coupon I got at an NHRA race. But also paid sale tax,tag, title so it came to 33,000. They did sell alot of GTOs around here the last 2 months w/ GMS pricing, you actually see a few on the road now.
