What's torque management?
Still new to the LS1 scene. I keep hearing complaints about the GTO's terrible timing and torque management. Can someone explain to me what the torque management is (I assume something that regulates torque, and perhaps limits it?). I would like to know what exactly it is, and how to get rid of it if it's taking power from me! lol

its a double edged sword, its supposed to save your tranny and make it last longer but if you drive the car like its supposed to be driven it will kill your tranny faster cuz it causes the tranny to slip a little. never had it tuned on my truck and now im paying for it.

Torque managment was put on the GTO's and Vettes to limit power output in the midrange to prevent/reduce drivetrain stress which saves GM money in busted part warrentys.

On the LS1 cars TM normally only shows it's face on the shifts. The computer reduces timing before and during the shift to help save some wear on the tranny. It's even worse and more invasive on the LS2's (the M6 car's even have TM.)
TM can be tuned out, but i wouldn't remove it totally, it does help to save the tranny over time. IT can be tuned out over x% throttle. I would leave it in under 40% or so.

The '05 M6 I drove last night was horrible... that must've been what I felt when powershifting gears... it seemed way down on power at the shifts... really sucked! I thought it was due to no throttle cable and using "fly-by-wire". We ended up getting a '05 A4... gotta get a tune!
