Default Just got an 05 GTO :) sweet ride for sure.

Since my camaro has turned into a race car I was forced to buy a daily driver, man i gotta say these GTO's are nice, once of the nicest cars I have ever driven. Got it for 5k off msrp which is not too bad IMO, I think the 06's are due in soon so they had pretty good deals on the 05's.

Now I have to keep to my oath, NO MODS!!!!!

Whats really amazing to me is how clean the engine is, can hardly see any cables hoses etc. Alot of room too should be waaaayyyy easier to change the spark plugs lol.

Congrats! Now good luck with the "no mods" part!

Someday I'd like to have one myself.

But if you mod for the sake of gas mileage... with my mods I'm at over 28MPG highway! Great for a DD.

Congrats! It's a true sleeper in the marketplace and an incredible value. In fact Motor Trend brought up a comparison between the new Aston Martin Vanquish and the LS2. They were kind of scratching their head that the new Porsche 911 fighting Vanquish does not have a level of performance on par with the LS2 and yet the car costs $115K.

Wait until you start getting the looks from guys trying to figure out what you're driving. Women love the Goat too!

Welcome to the GTO world. Good luck with the no mod deal!

I got a 1988 Mazada 323 to drive around so not modding it is easy....

Hahah I hear you guys on the not modding but my camaro costed so much money and since I hardly ever race it I think I am gonna fix it one last time and try to sell it. Now when I did race it I did have alot of fun.

The GTO is setup perfect for a daily driver, I do keep getting looks from alot of people lol, moreso than my camaro ever did. What unbelievable is the interior, I cant get over how refined it is compared to my FBOD. Only thing I might have done differently with the GTO is a solid axle but thats why we have fbods lol.

Had they designed the new goats from scratch for a purely american market, it may very well have had one. It just happens to be IRS because that's how the aussies have been building them for a long time now. the solid axle conversion would have been too complex for GM. It might threaten their reputation for sticking four different badges on the EXACT same car

msrp was 33,600k according to pontiac.com and car sticker, paid 28,600 for it brand new 11 miles on the odometer. pretty good discounts on the 05's right now, I hear of some people actually getting them for in the 27k range but I could not get any dealer lower than 28,600.

lucky you!

I bought mine in july....i was worried about waiting longer because i was afraid there wouldnt be anything but black and silver on the lots around here. I ended up paying 32K even and i fell into the 1 month period when there was no GMS pricing....

Damn lol, one thing that was funny was the salesman went to check with the finance guy to make sure the price was right that I was getting it for because he had just sold one to a guy the day before for 3k more than what I paid so he said. Maybe he was just trying to make me feel good but it really seemed like I was getting a deal.

Here is what I put in my emails to the dealers.

http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/dd...2005&cardist=0

http://www.devoeauto.com/view_ad.php?adid=115

both of those links are links to one gto for 27k and another dealership in naples that is somewhat close to me that was advertising the 5k off, I quoted them the MSRP of 33.6k and asked them how close they could get me to 28.6 k before my down payment.

1 dealer bit and actually called my house even though I did not give them my number lol, they said if I did it that day they would give me the 5k off, another dealer said 29k and one said to call him and he may even be able to beat the 28.6k but since he did not quote me in the emails I did not call him. One dealer actually told me that the 27k car was left over from the employee pricing days and that the 5k off must have been bogus on the other one cause they did not say what the starting price was, also told me I was being to complicated lol. Needless to say I did not go to that dealer lol.

Mike you do know that spark plugs are a mod, and while you are in there changing them you might as well put some LT's on. (for gas mileage reasons) lol

Congrats and enjoy

It is weird when you think of it as grocery getter but its true lol, what suprised me is the ac vents in the back seat, almost seems like they did try to make this a family type car?

yup... ive had 2 people sitting in the back before.. and they were both sitting comfortably... both were adults.

I keep my rear AC vents closed... better air flow up front for me.
