Default Winter car??

Ia anyone driving their GTO in the winter??, Like in Minnesota or a snow state??

I read that the weight distribution is good. With traction control it might be O.K.??

Any feedback would be appreciated!

Thanks!!

I am...with snow tires of course. I was surprised though that that even the stock tires don't handle too badly in the snow...although I'm coming from a TRUE performance tire on my other car that would do absolutely NOTHING in the snow. But yeah, I got Michelin Arctic Alpine snows on my goat now and it handles at least as good as my front wheel drive Mazda Protege with snows. The extra weight of the goat helps I guess. So no need to garage her.

I ran the stock tires and never had a problem. The car always went where I wanted it to go, even in 3-4 inches of snow.

Thanks for the replys!

I am considering selling my camaro, giving my wife my 01 impala and having just one car. I grew up with rear drive in the winter anyway.

I am guessing that good winter tires would be helpful

Thanks!!

Yes you probably can handle it, but its not always how good you can control they car but other people on the road with you. You may be an excellent driver but other people in their pos's don't care about our nice cars. Just my .02

Doesn't matter what time of year or whether or not snow is on the ground, I'm more worried about all the cell phone drivers, pimp daddy's (look like they're driving a boat from the back seat) and moms playing with they're kidds in the back seat than of my driving abilities in any road conditions just my .02
By the way traded the SS on a '05 Yellow Jacket LS2 6-spd GTO.

my car never sees the road with bad weather, other people just don't know how to contorl their cars in the snow. i did get caught in a freak snowstorm last year in March, while i still had temp plates on the damn car, and it handled pretty good with the traction control on.

I drive my GTO all winter long and keep my TA in the garage. Had some pretty decent snow too last winter here in Jersey. It scoots right along no problems.

Drove mine last winter, no problems at all. Actually handled better than my ranger.

I plan on driving in the snow once I get one. I will probably pick up a set of Blizzaks for it.

My biggest problem was hills or driveways snow covered, in these instances TC off worked best. I'd be going up a hill fine till the TC kicked in and lost all my momentum. At that point you need to burn though the snow (something the GTO is good at).

I'm finding the Kaaz LSD helps with the snow
