There isn't that many different types of headers out their for the gto that I know of. kooks, sLp, and stainless works I'm planning to get the stainless works with kat pipes for my 04 gto and i'll install them my self. I've heard good things about kooks also. And for the rest of the exhaust system I'll just find a pair of 3 inch mufflers that will fit best (I am going to try and fit a pair of flow masters)and take them and the car to a muffler shop I'll have them remove the rest of the stock exhaust from the kat pipes back take this home and keep it I would a gto exhaust aint cheep. then let them install 3 inch pipes to the kat pipes the kat pipes should also be 3 inch from stainless works and run the mufflers as close to the rear of the car as possible and just put dump pipes rite off the back of the muffler no tail pipes just leave them off and it don't get much better than that. I have not done this yet but it should work if 3 inch won't fit I'm pretty sure 2.5 will the muffler may have to be angled towards the wheel well but thats okay this exaust will sound bad a$$ and flow very well but it will be some what loud U could run 2.5 inch muffler pipes and mufflers and that will quiet it up a bit. I'm going to try to fit 3 inch. This setup will also allow more room for a solid drive shaft that the gto desperately needs and room for rear end modifications.

Try www.LS1GTO.com. Lots of good information there specifically for the GTO. This site was my main stay when I had my Firehawk, and it was good for it. But not so much good info here for the GTO.

Do I right....Get either Stainless Works or Kooks long tubes and match it with the Stainless Works 3" cat back. You can get them noisy shotgun resonator looking mufflers or (my preferrence) the turbo mufflers.
The turbos tone it down a bit and gives you a nice evil sounding deep rumble.

The X3 is going to be too much cam for these heavy cars, in my opinion. Especialy if you have an A4.

What you're going to need:
Kooks 1 3/4 long tubes
cat-back exhaust
high stall torque converter (at least 3800-4000 rpm with that cam)
It'll probably feel sluggish with stock gears, so you'll need at least 3.90's for that big cam.

Blue Six....Ill have to disagree. Im running the x3 in my 04 a4. Running 392rwhp and I lost no low end tq whatsoever. I have a 3200 Yank in mine now, although a 3600 would be the better choice.

As far as exhaust.... SW long tubes w/o cats, magnaflow catback or similar.

I'll agree with ya. I had a TSP 231/237 and low end was not so very good. I have an m6.

I'm not trying to be a dick here, but cutting 1.8's with a stalled and cammed A4 on DR's (even in these heavy cars) isn't that impressive. It looks to me like you still don't have the low end power to get the car moving.

Stainless Works or Kooks are great fitting headers on the GTO And MagnaFlow is by far the best sounding system available. Where are you at in Kuwait? I have several customers there with that car.

You went 1.41 in a full weight GTO with a 3500 stall?

I'm not calling BS, but i do find it extremely difficult to believe that a N/A GTO at full weight (3800+ with driver), especially with less than 400rwtq.

yeah..i know it's hard to believe it (for me 2)....but i was there in the track .....with 800+hp and 800+ tq Z28 ...(1dirtyz's car) and he went 1.49....9.5 @25+ (full wt..3700+ lb.....iron block...procharger...etc)

and we were like when this bull did it ....(maybe cuz he were using my TQ ....J/K)...as i said we did it once N/A....without the help of TNT

anyway...i'll do my best to find this vid out...(with the time slpt)...and with some nice PIC for the launching...
