Default A few quirks on my 04 Goat

I love my goat...much nicer than a 97 WS6 I had. I do have a few quirks. Has anyone else had any problems with the steering wheel volume control muting the radio instead of adjusting the volume up and down? Also the tach and mph gauge sometimes get stuck registering higher rpm/mph than I am actually going...have to cut the engine off to reset it....Just curious

I think you can have the dealer flash new software to fix the tach / speedo thing. Mine has done that once, I was told it happens maybe once in 1000 startups.

some of the gauges on the 04 had to be changed depending on your VIN #, i to get mine changed on my old 04, the temp gauge would go crazy and mph would do the same, might check into that. The dealer that did mine did not even no about it and i found out on ls1gto.com

there is a tsb for the tach and mph gauge. they have to update a cluster or something. it's no sweat. As for the volume, it has a mind of its own.

you are going to have to take it in for the volume button... the problem is that the ohm resistance is too close to eachother on the control and when the connections get a bit coroded (sp?) they go haywire. I'm on my third set of steering wheel controls here.....

I have been having the same issues with the volume control. The only way to fix it so far is to hit the steering wheel. I just hate taking the car in b/c it is my only ride and I can't be without it for an entire day.

I avoid the speedometer/tach/water temp issues by starting my 04 out of gear (neutral on the M12) and letting the diagnostics test finish before putting it in gear or moving the car.
