Which catback behind Kooks LT's on '05 GTO...
I am trying to help out my friend on modding his 2005 GTO A4 and learning some along the way before I purchase my GTO. He has decided on Kooks LT's with their catted midpipe because of the fitment problems with the Stainless Works headers and automatic tranny's.
So our question is which catback system is the best for a GTO equipped with the LS2 and Kooks LT's w/ catted midsection? I know a lot of guys are running the Magnaflow but how does it compare with the SW 3" system or the Corsa or the SLP systems? Thanks, in advance.

I have the SW chambered exhaust on my 04. It is LOUD!!! I also thought that the Kooks headers had 2.5 inch collectors...making having a 3 inch system useless. Of course, you could also go with the SW headers and the 04 3 inch SW catback with the much better looking 04 bumper. As a bonus...you now have a place to store your N2O bottle!!!

Stainless Works get my vote.
If the '05 system sounds as good as my '04...hell yes!
The turbo system is not too loud, not too quiet...........yet let er rip and it comes to life.
Ahhhh, music to my ears..........

Horsepower gains would be negligible between any of the brands. Go on LS2GTO.com and check in the exhaust and multimedia sections and youll find plenty of sound clips to get an idea of what youll be sounding like. Also keep in mind an 04 wont sound just like an 05 with the same mods. I know its kind of an obvious statement since they are two different motors, but one setup can sound dramatically different on an LS1 vs an LS2.

I believe JBA? now has a cat-back for 05's that uses an H pipe and what appears to be chambered mufflers that sounds very good, less "exotic" than cat-backs with an X pipe but you still get the advantage of the crossover.

I have the SW and it is a little lound and drones. I dont mind it unless I have a headache. I would go to the exhaust section at ls1gto.com and search for clips. I am sure someone has the right sound there for you.
